GM, GM! ☕️
Well, we officially have a new County Mayor, Wes Golden! Along with other recently sworn-in representatives and officials.
It looks as if the swearing-in ceremony was a memorable one, with many family and friends of the various elect turning out to show support and encouragement. (see below)
Tomorrow, I'll be delivering an event stack for newsletter supporters. There will be a few featured events, but if you'd like the near-exhaustive rundown of weekend to-dos, consider showing your support for just $8/mo. (it goes toward the tech-overhead to keep the digital elves happy, the occasional street taco, and when I lose arguments over toys at Walmart or Academy)
🙏🏽 just a reminder... if you see a friend or colleague mentioned in the newsletter, please forward it to them or share the link with 'em so they know and can feel appreciated - thanks!
✋Official Swearing-In Ceremony Took Place Tuesday At Our Historic Courthouse
On Tuesday, Montgomery County held a swearing-in ceremony for all the newly elected officials at the Historic Courthouse. Mayor Jim Durrett, Judge Jill Ayers, Kellie Jackson, and Judge Wayne Shelton administered the oath to the new officials in front of family and friends.

📣 Special Event Friday Night 9/2/22 • Downtown Commons Concert Series!
This Friday, September 2nd, Downtown @ Sundown will feature Beatles vs Stones! Starting at 7 p.m., the two greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time will face off in a once-in-a-lifetime show! They will engage in a musical “showdown” of hit songs from the ’60s like ‘Satisfaction’ ‘Paint It, Black’ and ‘Here Comes the Sun.’ Be ready to sing and dance during this rock battle!
Local food trucks will also be set up before and during the shows. Burgasm, Kadi’s Tacos and More, Heather’s Homemade Icecream, Kona Ice and TN Kettle Corn are all expected to be on site. Tater Headz will also be open at the walk-up eatery on Legion Street and Third Street. Beer and other beverages will be for sale, with all proceeds benefiting our featured non-profit, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region.
Main Street will be blocked off between Second Street and Third Street beginning at 4:30 p.m. to make room for the food trucks. Downtown @ Sundown Concerts are free and open to the public and take place on the first and third Fridays of each month through October. Chairs and blankets are welcome; however, pets, coolers, smoking/vaping, or outside alcohol will not be allowed on site.
